Y da pan a los que tienen hambre. Y hambre de justicia a los que tienen pan.
Grant bread to those that are hungry. And hunger for justice to those that have bread.
Why go so far away when there is so much work to do at home? Sociologist Philip Jenkins writes, “Denominations are going to have to figure what to do when the bulk of the power and money is in the global North and the bulk of the people is in the global South.” We believe that, through this imbalance, God is encouraging us to make Christ-like friendships with neighbors to the south. We are mutually enriched when we intentionally pray, read scripture, and work on projects together. For over a decade, we have partnered with CEDCAS, a health clinic in Costa Rica. In the next year we are taking steps to partner with a community in South Africa.
