Youth

Youth Ministry

We welcome all youth to Red Clay! Contact Ben Andrews, Director of Christian Formation, with any questions!

At Red Clay Youth, we hang out together and learn about God through our various activities and events. Any given weekend, we might be playing pickleball in our Founders Hall gym, going to a soccer game, having a midnighter, playing sports and games, learning about God through the arts, or volunteering in our community. We are proud of our scouting program, confirmation classes, mission trips, and a budding social group for neurodiverse teens. If you have any specific questions or are interested in joining the youth group, please contact Ben Andrews at or call the church office at 302-998-0434.

Pickleball

Join Pickleball

Pickleball is one of the fast growing social sports today! We play almost every Sunday night at 6:30 pm in our Founders Hall gym.

This is a multi-generational game, so parents and grandparents are welcome to join and play on one of our three courts. There is NO experience necessary to join. Just show up ready to have a blast! We also have snacks! :)

Service Trips

Trip Info 2024

Red Clay has a strong tradition of taking mission on the road, and short-term mission trips are a big part of that tradition. Each year volunteers - young and old - donate a week of time to go to different areas of the country to build relationships and offer assistance with emergency housing needs.

After a decade of traveling to rural Maine for the mission trip, Red Clay has visited Louisiana, Rhode Island, and Asheville in 2023. Plans for 2024 are already in the works!

Confirmation

Confirmation provides a unique opportunity for students to personally reaffirm their baptismal vows and explore their faith in an authentic way. It is a great learning opportunity and an important step in their faith journey. We meet in a small group setting once per month on Sundays from September through April, with a couple of special events throughout the year.

Confirmation is open to students in 9-12 grades - ordinarily youth take the class while in 9th grade. Confirmation Sunday is in early May every year which is when the youth become official members of the church!

Troop 29

Troop 29 Info

Family Scouting is alive and well at Red Clay. With close to 200 boys and girls actively involved in Red Clay's scouting programs, why look anywhere else for a pack or troop? Scouting ideals and methods complement the activities and lessons offered the children and youth of Red Clay!

Who Can Join? Pack 29 welcomes boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grades or those of 5 to 10 years of age. Boys and girls at least 10 years old or have completed the fifth grade can join Troop 29’s Scouts BSA program for boys or Scouts BSA Troop 1029 for girls. All youth are welcome to join at any pack or troop meeting. Please contact John McNamara or visit our website at the button above for additional information.

Drama

Audition!

The stage in our Founders Hall has been home to major productions such as "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," smaller seasonal plays, as well as skits and talent shows.

This fall the youth will be taking on a Christmas production and all are welcome to tryout - there will be a place for all to contribute to the production. Keep a look out for auditions and rehearsal details.
