Stephen Ministry
Red Clay’s Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.
A Stephen Minister is someone who is formally and intentionally committed to a hurting person. They are a caring Christian friend who will help to bear some of the burdens and “be there” to listen to, support, encourage, and pray for the one who is hurting. God doesn’t intend for us to bear our burdens alone. He asks us to help each other.
If you feel that you would benefit from the care of a Stephen Minister or if you would like to know more about becoming a Stephen Minister, please contact one of the Pastors or call the Church Office to leave a message for one of our Stephen Ministry Coordinators: Suzanne Courter-Jann or Leslie Gast.
Each December, the Stephen Ministers offer a "Service of Light & Hope." A pastor and the Stephen Ministers offer words of comfort and prayers. There is also a candlelighting in memory or honor of others as we look forward to the hope that already shines in our lives. We hope you will join us for this special service.
