This summer, the blockbuster is “The Odyssey.” Long before it was a movie title, Homer’s Odyssey was one of the great adventure stories of the ancient world … written around the same era that the people of Israel were passing down their own unforgettable stories of floods, journeys, storms, and homecomings found in the Bible. We will be exploring those stories all summer long … Noah surviving the flood, Abraham journeying into the unknown, Jonah lost at sea, Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem, and the Prodigal Son finally finding his way home.
